During the winter period 2023/24, Getjet Airlines will station three Airbus A320-200s at Baku Airport. As part of a wet lease agreement, numerous routes are served for the state-owned Azerbaijan Airlines.
The three aircraft are registered with the Lithuanian AOC and are rented to Azal for a few months, including the provision of flying personnel. From Baku, the wet lease aircraft will be used to destinations including Dubai, Istanbul, Antalya, Milan-Malpensa, Prague and Berlin.
“We are entering the winter season with a new strong and promising partnership with the Azerbaijani airline, proving that ACMI flights remain in high demand. This is a milestone for us in two ways. First, this partnership strengthens our presence in Asia and strengthens our global fleet operations. Secondly, we are deploying a significant number of our Airbus A320 family for the entire winter season, which typically presents seasonal challenges for ACMI providers. We are pleased that we have gained global trust in our services and can expand in different regions and continents regardless of the season,” said Rūta Kulvinskaitė, CEO of GetJet Airlines.
The ACMI provider's group-wide fleet currently consists of Boeing 737s, Airbus A320s and A321s. It has operational flight operations in Lithuania and Malta, among others. According to the company's own information, flights have so far flown to 170 airports in 50 countries. Customers include Wizz Air, Finnair, Transavia, Icelandair, Tui Airways, Air Serbia and Vueling.
