The airline Global Crossing Airlines has established branches in Colombia and Ecuador. Both states have applied for AOCs and operating permits. Cargo flights are to be carried out with Airbus A321 freighters.

In Colombia they want to start as Global X Colombia SAS. The home base is to be built at Bogota Airport. On May 26, 2022, the South American state's civil aviation authority will hold a public hearing.

In Ecuador, under the name Latinx Air, an AOC and operating license has been applied for. The home base is to be set up in Quito. According to AviaciOnline, the aim is to obtain approval for the operation of all variants of the Airbus A320 series.

Global Crossing Airlines manager Roberto Held confirmed to the medium mentioned that they want to set up new flight operations in Ecuador and Colombia. These are “two very important freight hubs”, which also appear relevant for strategic reasons due to their geographical location. One wants to start with Airbus A321F or conversion versions. First you want to fly in ACMI and charter traffic for other airlines.

Based in Miami, GlobalX specializes in ACMI and wet lease charter services for other airlines and tour operators in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America.

The airline currently operates three 320-seat Airbus A180s and one 321-seat Airbus A183. In October 2021, the company announced the acquisition of three more A320 passenger aircraft and five A321P2Fs, the latter to expand its cargo business.
