Graz Airport had to wait a long time for the Berlin connection to make a comeback, but this route is now being served by Eurowings four times a week for the time being. A fifth rotation will be added at the beginning of May 2023.

Flights are operated on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (from May) and Sunday. Medium-haul jets of the types Airbus A319 and A320 are used. The flight time is around 75 minutes. Before the corona pandemic, SkyWork Airlines and Easyjet, among others, had this route in their portfolio, which at that time still led to Tegel.

"We are very pleased that we are now flying directly from Graz to Berlin for the first time," says Eurowings CEO Jens Bischof. “With the new route, we are connecting Styria more strongly than before to the German capital region. At the same time, many Berliners and Brandenburgers can now discover the south of Austria much more easily. The same applies to the metropolitan region of Hamburg: On May 5th, the new connection between Graz and the Hanseatic city will start with 4 weekly rotations. Together with Graz Airport, we are happy about the successful expansion of our route network.”

Eurowings is significantly expanding its presence at Graz Airport this year. In addition to Berlin, a new flight connection to Hamburg will start four times a week in May. With the stationing of an aircraft in Graz, flights to popular holiday destinations such as Chania (Crete) and Larnaca (Cyprus), as well as Hurghada, Karpathos, Corfu, Kos and Rhodes are also offered. The flights to Palma de Mallorca will be increased to 4 weekly flights and will be offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from May 3th.

"The start of the Berlin connection marks the beginning of a comprehensive expansion of the Eurowings service at Graz Airport this year," informs Wolfgang Grimus, Managing Director of Graz Airport. “At the beginning of May, the 11th Eurowings base will open and the connection to Hamburg will start, and then the many holiday flights will gradually start. With the addition of Berlin flights, we are again connected to one of the most important metropolises in Europe. Berlin is an important destination for the Styrian economy and industry, as well as an extremely attractive city break destination for private travellers. At the same time, we expect that this direct connection will also bring many tourists and business people from Berlin/Brandenburg and the neighboring federal states to Styria.
