Effective September 3, 2023, Lufthansa intends to fly up to three times a day between Graz and Munich again. The connection to the hub was severely thinned out at the beginning of the 2023 summer timetable period.

The Kranich Group has obviously come to the conclusion that it is not sufficient to connect the Styrian airport to the Munich hub just once a day. A major increase had originally been announced for the 2023 summer timetable, but then came a real clear cut. Instead of 33 cycles per week, only seven are offered.

Even before the increase to up to three daily flights, there will be a selective increase to two rotations per day from the end of August 2023. The Munich flights are usually carried out with aircraft of the subsidiary Lufthansa Cityline.

The sister company Eurowings has been maintaining for a few weeks a base at Graz Airport. Flights are now being offered to Hamburg and Berlin as well as to other destinations. However, the Stuttgart route, which was taken over by Austrian Airlines and was suspended several times during the corona pandemic, permanently discontinued. The flight times and frequencies are likely to have been useless for the business travelers who frequently traveled this route.
