Due to the corona pandemic and another lockdown that was ordered for Thessaloniki, the airport there has to close on Tuesday from 6:00 a.m. All civil flights are canceled. Due to the fact that this is a sovereign order, affected passengers will most likely not receive any compensation payments under EU Regulation 261/2004.

The Greek government has ordered a strict night curfew in Thessaloniki. As with the first lockdown, citizens who want to leave their house during the day must inform the authorities via SMS. Thessaloniki is currently classified as a local hotspot by the government.
