According to its own information, the “climate-friendly” startup Green Airlines announces that the destinations Palma de Mallorca, Rhodes, Crete and Kos will be offered from Rostock and Paderborn. The limited liability company is not an airline, but a company that charters aircraft and sells the seats for its own account.

The operational implementation of the announced routes is to be carried out by German Airways (formerly: WDL) with Embraer 190. The inclusion of the holiday destinations has been announced for July 2021 and should only be bookable through organizers.

You want to fly twice a week to Palma, Rhodes and Crete. The other destinations are to be served once a week. It is flown under the flight numbers of German Airways, since the charter company Green Airlines is not an airline, because you do not have an AOC and an operating license. Also, no details are given as to why the charter flights operated with the Embraer 190 should be particularly “climate fair”.

“Against the background of the successive progress in vaccination, the demand for travel is noticeably increasing. We are responding to this with climate-friendly flights to the most popular holiday destinations, ”says Stefan Auwetter, founder and CEO of Green Airlines in a media broadcast. However, the company did not provide any further information on the climate measures.
