Greece has adjusted the regulations for holidaymakers who become infected with Corona on site. Since last week, they no longer have to go into quarantine, the special isolation areas in the hotels are being abolished. Instead, isolation time becomes voluntary.
At the end of last week, the Greek authorities issued new health protocols that allow a more relaxed approach to corona-infected tourists. If a foreign guest discovers a CoV disease during their stay in Greece, they are now free to isolate themselves for a few days or the rest of the booked stay. Stricter rules continue to apply to locals, who must be in domestic isolation for five days. Hotels may continue to set up special quarantine areas, but are no longer legally obliged to do so.
Exit allowed with a positive test
What is also new is that leaving Greece is also possible with a positive test result, this was previously forbidden. Infected foreign guests are allowed to travel on public transport such as ferries, trains, buses and planes at any time as long as they wear an FFP2 or KN95 standard mask. However, anyone who wants to leave the country during a corona infection should also observe the entry requirements of the destination country. German citizens, for example, are also allowed to return to their home country with a corona infection. This is reported by Check24.
