The Bulgarian airline Gullivair was granted route rights for two weekly scheduled flights between Sofia and Cairo. It is still completely open whether these will actually be used and thus enter the international liner business.

So far, Gullivair has been active in the charter and ACMI segment. But this could change soon, because the carrier is supposed to be before the Scheduled domestic flights are available. The fleet currently consists of three A330-200s and one ATR72-700. Two further units of the last-mentioned machine type are planned for domestic flights.

According to a report by CH-Aviation.com, it is not yet clear that the international scheduled flights between Sofia and Cairo will actually start. The carrier made similar applications in the past, but it was ultimately decided against inclusion. This is not an exception, it is a common occurrence in the industry. For example, got Austrian Airlines route rights for Milan Linate-Salzburg awarded but made no use of it. Ryanair also uses the slots at the inner-city airport of the Italian metropolis - in contrast to the Competitor Wizz Air - not yet.
