The Federal Republic of Germany has chained up a Boeing 747 operated by Cargologicair UK at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. The cargo plane is not allowed to leave the regional airport for an indefinite period.
The measure was initiated by the authorities of the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Among other things, it announced that Cargologicair UK and the affected Boeing 747 would be subject to the current EU sanctions. Therefore, a take-off ban was imposed on the cargo plane for an indefinite period. It is assumed that this will last longer.
Cargologicair UK was at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport for maintenance purposes. Its insolvency administrator Jan Markus Pathner explained to regional media, among other things, that a parking fee of around 1.200 euros per day has to be paid.
The German Federal Ministry of Transport believes that the formal owners of Cargologicair UK are Russian citizens. It does not matter that they also hold a Republic of Cyprus passport. The company was given the opportunity to comment, but received no response.
