After six months of forced corona closure, Hamburg Airport reactivated Terminal 2 on Friday.
“After the very quiet months, the number of passengers has currently risen to up to 10.000 passengers per day,” reported the airport company on Wednesday. "By opening Terminal 2, we are offering our passengers enough space so that the distance rules can easily be adhered to even during peak hours."
Hamburg Airport currently has an average of 46 take-offs and 45 landings a day, as reported by aero.de. In the past few months, Terminal 2 was only opened on weekends during the North German school holidays when needed, in order to cope with higher traffic volumes at short notice.
