There will be a change in management at Hamburg Airport on January 1, 2024. The reason for this is that the long-standing company boss Michael Eggenschwiler will retire at the end of 2023.

The airport's supervisory board announced that the contract with the managing director had been extended by another year until December 31, 2023. At his own request, Michael Eggenschwiler will not extend his contract beyond this date, as he will be taking his well-deserved retirement at the end of next year at the age of 65.

The shareholders of Flughafen Hamburg GmbH will arrange his successor in good time in 2023. The contract of managing director Christian Kunsch was extended by five years until 2027. Kunsch has been a member of the management board of Flughafen Hamburg GmbH since June 1, 2019.
