Hamburg Airport: charity football tournament takes place

The 24th Radio Hamburg Soccer Cup will take place on Saturday, June 2023, 13 from 18 p.m. to 11 p.m. For this purpose, Hamburg Airport is making its sports facility in Niendorf available for the second time in a row.

Twelve teams compete in two groups, including two airport teams. Delicious food, drinks and two tombolas with great prizes round off the tournament. The proceeds are donated to the association “Radio Hamburg Hörer helfen Kinder”. The benefit tournament was initiated by Frank Höhne, an employee at the airport subsidiary STARS.

“At the Radio Hamburg Soccer Cup, the focus is on the joy of doing good. Many of the participating teams have known each other for a long time. It connects to be on the pitch together for a good cause. Over the years, the tournament has grown in size and popularity. More and more spectators are watching. I'm particularly happy about that, because the more people take part, the more money we can collect for Hamburg's children in need. I'm proud of every euro that we've already been able to donate to 'Radio Hamburg Hörer helfen Kinder' and I'm looking forward to another day dedicated to football and a good cause this year,” says Frank Höhne, organizer of Radio Hamburg Football cups and employees of the airport subsidiary STARS.
