Hamburg Airport in northern Germany will close runways in 2022 in order to be able to maintain the runways. In June 2022, only one lane will be available at times. Other locks are spread throughout the year.
The dates for the annual maintenance and repair work on the runways at Hamburg Airport have been set: In June, both runways will be closed for one week. In addition, further closures are necessary throughout the year in order to meet the increased requirements for the runways. In accordance with the wishes of those in the vicinity of the airport, Hamburg Airport is bundling these days into five blocking blocks of five days each. These are distributed throughout the year to ensure the necessary regularity. While one runway is closed, all flights take off and land via the other runway.
