According to a report by the Handelsblatt, the management of the vacation airline Condor is in negotiations with two investors. This could lead to a takeover of the former Thomas Cook subsidiary.
A spokeswoman confirmed to the newspaper: "We are in good, advanced talks about Condor's financing needs". However, the media officer did not provide any further details. The Handelsblatt bases its reporting on "several independent sources", but does not provide any further details.
In the previous year, the LOT parent company PGL wanted to buy the German holiday airline. The corona pandemic ultimately resulted in the deal not being closed. In autumn 2020 it became known that Condor had filed a claim for damages against the Polish state holding company. It is considered unlikely that PGL will again be among the interested parties, as LOT has high financial requirements due to the pandemic.
