Haneda accident: Japan Airlines releases scant new information

The airline Japan Airlines recently released further information about the serious accident that occurred at Tokyo Haneda Airport on January 2, 2024.

Flight JL516 collided with a Coast Guard aircraft while landing at the Japanese airport and subsequently caught fire. According to Japan Airlines, all passengers and crew were able to exit the Airbus A350-900, although some injuries were reported.

Specifically, one person suffered a rib fracture, another a shin bruise, one a sprain and a bruise. The physical condition of 12 people has worsened in the meantime. The investigation is ongoing and Japan Airlines is committed to fully cooperating. Detailed information about the cause of the incident is currently being investigated.
