The US company Hawaiian Airlines expects that the first of a total of ten Boeing 787-9s on order will not be taken over until the first half of 2023. The incorporation was actually intended for the current year.
At the same time, the company had to announce that it had flown a loss of 144,7 million US dollars in the previous year. Turnover was around 1,6 billion US dollars, but this was offset by costs of 1,7 billion US dollars. In 2020, the carrier posted a $511 million shortfall.
“Our two 787s due for delivery in 2022 are being delayed and we now expect to receive them no earlier than the first half of 2023. The capacity of these aircraft has been removed from our full-year capacity forecast,” said CEO Peter Ingram during the presentation of the business figures.
