The British capital London is considered an important source market for golf carrier Emirates Airline. Therefore, the indignant reaction to Heathrow Airport's cap of a maximum of 100.000 passengers per day is not surprising.

The Dubai-based airline describes the measure as "nonsensical and irresponsible". Emirates rejects Heathrow management's demand that airlines restrict ticket sales. It is pointed out that they were only given 36 hours to implement it.

"Not only was their communication dictating the exact number of flights from which we should eject paying passengers, but there were also threats of legal action in the event of non-compliance," said the Gulf carrier.

Heathrow Airport cannot understand the criticism and points out that only about 70 percent of the staff would be available. The number of passengers has reached around 80 to 85 percent of the value it had before the corona pandemic. A spokeswoman also explains that the entire network would continue to “suffer from corona-related challenges”.

A few days ago, London Heathrow Airport announced that until September 11, 2022 a maximum of 100.000 passengers per day can be handled. At the same time, customers, i.e. the airlines, were asked to restrict ticket sales. The measure was justified, among other things, by the fact that the service level had “reached an unacceptable level”.
