The Swiss regional airline is canceling the concept of so-called pop-up flights due to the recent corona wave. According to the company, no further such trips are currently planned. Otherwise, Helvetic is currently not even flying on the line for its own account.

A Helvetic spokesman confirmed to the Swiss newspaper Blick that due to the current corona situation, no further pop-up flights are planned for the time being. This also includes the recently announced trip to Florence, which has already been canceled. The program was complicated from the start, because the first "pop-up flight" planned to Montenegro had to be canceled because Switzerland had put the destination country on the quarantine list shortly before.

Two trips to Croatia and one to Greece were made. Those who were planned to Paris and Vilnius had to cancel Helvetic Airways and the cooperating tour operators due to the pandemic.

Much more problematic for Helvetic Airways, however, is that Swiss will make drastic cuts in the winter flight schedule. Some machines are currently in use for the largest customer, but this could change downwards - depending on the development of the pandemic. Blick writes, citing a Helvetic spokesman, that they want to get over the winter with charter flights and football charters. It is calculated that a maximum of 30 percent of the capacity will be in the air.
