Due to the corona pandemic, Helvetic Airways is also forced to change its business model. So far, eight Embraer jets have been in operation on behalf of Swiss. This actually safe activity was completely lost due to the crisis. Now you are breaking new ground.

In the future, Helvetic will be offering short-term flights to numerous European destinations. These can be booked both as flight only and as a package with an overnight stay in a hotel. The trips take about two to three days and are intended to appeal to people who want to go on a holiday or city trip on the spur of the moment. The carrier markets the offer as "pop-up flights".

A possible cancellation of the E2 order is now off the table. Helvetic Airways decided to convert four orders to Embraer 195-E2. With these one expects greater opportunities in the charter market. The long-term fleet will therefore consist of eight Embraer 190-E2s and four E195-E2s.
