In the summer of 2022, vacations on the Mediterranean should again be in particularly high demand among Austrians. During an analysis, the holiday home broker Interhome found that initial trends show that 38,3 percent want to spend their holidays in Croatia. 29,3 percent chose Italy.

Istria is the most popular region, followed by the Kvarner Bay. 17,9 percent would like to stay in Austria during their vacation this summer, with Carinthia being the most popular destination.

The evaluation of the last few years shows that the popularity of stays between 5 and 7 nights among Austrians has remained almost the same. Short trips (1-4 nights) were extremely popular (2020%), especially in the pandemic-ridden winter of 21/46, but fell back to the pre-corona level (35%) last winter. Stays between 5-7 nights (53%) were the most popular again this winter.

Next summer, Italy and France will be the two most popular destinations, each accounting for around 22% of all Interhome bookings, followed by Spain, Croatia and Germany. Compared to summer 2019, Interhome guests are increasingly traveling to the Côte d'Azur, Istria and the Spanish coasts of Costa Blanca and Costa Brava. Holidays on the North Sea also remain popular.
