From January 16, 2025, the Viennese audience can expect an extraordinary experience: With "Holiday on Ice No Limits", the world's best figure skaters will show spectacular choreographies on the large ice surface of the Vienna Stadthalle that push the boundaries of the imaginable. With breathtaking acrobatics, impressive lighting effects and a soundtrack that reflects the music history of the last decades, this event will be an unforgettable highlight of the winter year.
Directed by Kim Gavin, a renowned creative who recently developed Adele's Las Vegas show and is currently working on Robbie Williams' European concerts, "No Limits" promises more than just an ice show. For this project, Gavin was inspired by the dynamics and visual effects of modern computer games, whose rapid changes between different game worlds form the basis of the concept of "No Limits". The viewer is invited to experience a limitless journey with the main characters Flynn and Sadie, characterized by a brilliant mix of dance, acrobatics and modern technology.
Innovation on the ice: lighting effects of the future
The heart of the show is a huge LED wall with a moving cube in the middle, which fits into the action as a flexible element. But the real technical highlight are the kinetic lighting elements that float above the ice surface: over 200 light balls, controlled by more than 200 motors, move at different speeds and brightnesses, creating spectacular effects. The illusion of floating drones reinforces the futuristic ambience and blurs the line between reality and fantasy.
Another visual accent is set by the artistic synchronization of the lighting effects with the music. Iconic songs such as "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush, "Pinball Wizard" by The Who or "Hold My Hand" by Lady Gaga can be heard, offering the audience a unique atmosphere not only musically but also visually.
star guests and special highlights
A special highlight of this year's show is the appearance of the Austrian mentalists Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass. On Sunday, January 26, 2025, they will enchant visitors to the 15 p.m. show in the Vienna Stadthalle with their magical performances. The two world champions of mental magic are known for their breathtaking, psychologically fascinating tricks and thus give the event an additional dimension.
In addition to the magical performances, visitors can expect many more magical moments in the "No Limits" show. The fusion of sport, art and technology, coupled with the impressive music and light show, makes this event a special experience for the whole family.
