With the travel restrictions imposed, the uncertainty in the aviation industry is also growing. The umbrella association of airlines (IATA) is now warning of the consequences and calling for more support.

Red. Airlines would have to get used to this color. Because according to a forecast by the IATA, the airlines are in the red and burn 250 euros - and that every minute. Extrapolated over six months that would be around 000 billion euros, like finanzen.at reported.

"The crisis is deeper and lasts longer than we could imagine," said IATA boss Alexandre de Juniac. "We have to sound the alarm again today." Specifically, one calls for further state support for the industry. Because the aid programs would soon expire, at the same time an end to the crisis is not in sight. Quite the opposite: in 2022 at the earliest, profits can only be expected again. In addition, the association has repeatedly reaffirmed the use of rapid corona tests at airports so that quarantine measures in destination countries are superfluous.
