The International Air Transport Association, IATA for short, advocates Covid-19 rapid tests right before departure.

In view of the fact that travel warnings are issued almost every day, action must be taken as soon as possible, said General Director de Juniac. The umbrella association of airlines is therefore calling for rapid corona tests - this is how you could bypass the quarantine measures and make traveling more attractive again despite Corona. The IATA airlines are 100 percent behind the proposal, like the news magazine FAZ reported.

Until the result of a so-called PCR test is available, those affected often have to be patient. That should no longer be the case with the Covid antigen rapid test. Because this test strategy would deliver a valid result after just 15 minutes. Austrian Airlines is also said to have a corresponding project in the pipeline. The IATA also holds the states responsible and advocates that they assume all costs. They also want to introduce compulsory testing: anyone who wants to take a plane in the future has to be tested beforehand. Otherwise, access will be denied. This means that you can be 99 percent sure that none of the people on board carry the new Covid-19 pathogen.
