The IAG group member Iberia is introducing two new baggage options that passengers can book for a fee. So far, the carrier only offered 23 kilograms per piece in economy class.

That is now changing, because now suitcases weighing 15 and 32 kilograms can also be booked. You have to pay for checked baggage in Economy Class on most routes. At the same time, Iberia is changing the billing system for excess baggage. In the future, there will no longer be a flat rate, but you will be asked to pay for the actual weight per kilogram or part thereof.

The cost of transporting suitcases is dynamic and can vary depending on the route booked. According to Iberia, the minimum prices are as follows: 13 euros for a 15 kg piece of luggage, 18 euros for 23 kg and 35 euros for 32 kg. In future, excess baggage will cost 12 euros per kilogram. So far there was a flat rate of 60 euros.
