From January 15, 2022, Icelandair plans to connect the Icelandic Keflavik with the Austrian Salzburg with a Boeing 757-200. For the time being, a weekly cycle is planned. The actual admission is subject to further pandemic developments.

Icelandair will take off as FI8 in Keflavik at around 00:574 a.m. on Saturday and arrive at Austria's second largest airport at 12:50 p.m. The return flight is operated as FI575. The departure is from Salzburg at 14:00 p.m. and the arrival in Iceland is planned around 17:15 p.m. The route is offered seasonally during the ski season.

With the announcement by Icelandair, there are currently two airlines that want to fly between Keflavik and Salzburg in the winter flight schedule 2021/22. Of the newly founded competitor Play has already been selling corresponding flights for a few weeks.
