IHK demands money for Weeze, Dortmund and Paderborn

The NRW airports in Weeze, Dortmund and Paderborn do not receive any money from the “Aviation Billion” because they are not classified as international airports. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry has sharply criticized this fact. It is required that all six airports in North Rhine-Westphalia are treated equally.

The IHK sent a letter to North Rhine-Westphalia Transport Minister Hendrik Wüst, asking him to ensure that all airports are treated equally. The state has basically promised that it will contribute to the costs of the rescue, but according to the current state of information there will be nothing from the federal government.

The IHK is particularly bothered by the fact that the small Münster / Osnabrück airport will receive support from the government, but Weeze, Dortmund and Paderborn will not. The background is that the German air traffic control is active at the FMO. Paderborn Airport is in one Insolvency proceedings in self-administration.
