In the course of the corona pandemic, numerous EU countries have introduced entry forms under various names. Depending on the country, these can be filled out online or on paper with a ballpoint pen. These are now on the decline again.
Some governments have been content with the so-called Passenger Locator Form (PLF) being filled out by the passengers and then handed in to the crew or at an immigration checkpoint. Others, such as Greece, Malta, Austria and Germany, have had their own and quite long questionnaires filled out online at times. In the meantime, the number of EU members who require entry forms to be filled out is falling.
Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Germany, for example, have already abolished them. Likewise, Greece no longer requires the completion. The United Kingdom, Northern Ireland and Ireland, Switzerland and Austria only make the forms a condition in special circumstances.
Paperwork is also about to be abolished in Cyprus and Spain. However, governments have yet to formally decide on this, which is expected to happen before the Easter holidays. Italy will abolish all corona measures by the end of March 2022 - including the ePLF. Portugal is sticking with the PLF, at least for the time being, but here too there are signs of deletion.
