Demand increased: Condor ended triangular flights

The holiday airline Condor is currently also on the move within Germany. However, no passengers are transported between German cities, as these are so-called triangular flights. These should be history again from April 2022, the company confirmed.

At the moment, capacity utilization on some classic holiday routes is not optimal, so Condor has decided to combine flights. A spokeswoman: “There are currently, as was the case in January and February, when bookings were weaker, triangular flights that were planned in this way due to demand. Example: A flight from Frankfurt to Tenerife can be combined with a flight from Frankfurt to Gran Canaria so that all guests can reach their respective destinations even if there are fewer bookings. The routing of the flight is then Frankfurt-Gran Canaria-Tenerife-Frankfurt. This also works in another example: a flight from Hamburg to Gran Canaria can be combined with a flight from Stuttgart to Gran Canaria, so that the routing of the flight is Hamburg-Stuttgart-Gran Canaria and back to Germany. However, as a guest it is not possible to fly from Hamburg to Stuttgart and get off there”.

The airline also emphasizes that it does not operate any domestic flights "through which guests can fly from one German city to another German city". The triangular flights should be history very soon, because the booking figures for April 2022 should be much better. “These flights will end in the next few days because demand increased significantly in April, so there is no need to combine flights for ecological and economic reasons. So there will be none of these flights in summer, ”said a Condor media officer.

European Air Charter from Munich and Stuttgart in wet lease

In the summer of 2022, the leisure airline will offer around 90 percent of the capacity it had in the same period of 2022. From Stuttgart and Munich, wet lease services are also used. "From Stuttgart and Munich, the seasonal partner airline European Air Charter is used on individual routes, with which Condor has already worked closely in the past," explains the spokeswoman to Aviation.Direct.

In Vienna-Schwechat, Condor is celebrating in the 2022 summer flight schedule after a few years of absence the comeback. This time there are no long-haul flights, but holiday destinations in the Mediterranean. These are Heraklion, which is served on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday service days, Kos, which is served on Tuesday and Friday service days, Palma de Mallorca, which is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday service days, and Rhodes, which can be found in the flight schedule on Thursdays and Sundays. Most recently, Condor told Aviation.Direct that the descendantrage should be good from Vienna-Schwechat.
