Indian low-cost airline Akasa Air made its first commercial flight on Sunday, flight number QP1101. This led from Mumbai (BOM) to Ahmedabad (AMD). The takeoff was 25 minutes late, but the premiere flight landed on time.

From an Indian point of view, the event was quite significant, because for the first time in around eight years a new company rose into the air. The Boeing 737-Max-8 with the registration VT-YAA was used.

“This is an extremely fortunate occasion. We've dreamed of this for a long time and it's great to see that this event is actually happening. We've had this airline on a piece of paper, in our hearts and in our minds for a long time and it's just wonderful that we can now put this into practice and hopefully have very happy customers." -Events.

The young carrier wants to gradually expand the route network. First of all, you limit yourself to destinations in Germany or in the neighboring countries. The backbone of the fleet will be the Boeing 737 Max. The first unit, the VT-YAA, was formally taken over in June 2022 and the certification flights that led to the receipt of the AOC and operating license were also completed with this machine.
