The Civil Aviation Authority of India (DGCA) has suspended the head of Air India's safety department for one month due to unspecified deficiencies in accident prevention.

According to a statement from the authority, deficiencies were found during an audit. These should particularly concern the availability of technical staff in accordance with the manual and other regulations. The internal controls are said to have not met the legal requirements.
