A special ground transport went badly in India because a decommissioned Air India aircraft got stuck under a motorway bridge. Since the machine has been out of service for a long time, it was sold.

This was actually supposed to be brought to the buyer by special overland transport, but the shipping company obviously misjudged the amount when planning the route. So it happened as it had to: The heavy-duty transporter including the aircraft on the loading area got stuck under a bridge on an Indian motorway.

In India there is already heated discussion about who is actually responsible for the incident and the messed up planning. The carrier makes it clear that the affected machine has been sold and the new owner has arranged for it to be transported away. Since Air India is no longer the owner, responsibility - from the airline's point of view - lies solely with the buyer.

The matter is likely to be problematic, because according to eyewitnesses, the decommissioned aircraft has been stuck under the bridge for a few days. It is possible that the bridge, which had to be temporarily closed to traffic, was severely damaged, so that structural engineers and engineers first have to find a solution so that the structure does not suffer any further damage.

In India, however, one has already had involuntary experience with aircraft under bridges, because in 2019 a special transport with a decommissioned machine from the Indian post office also got stuck under a bridge. The video above shows the Air India plane currently hovering under a motorway bridge and the one below the former mail machine that hit it in 2019.
