The planned restart of the Indian airline Jet Airways is once again hanging by a thread, as some creditors are suing the takeover by the Kalrock Capital/Murari Lal Jalan consortium. They want to ensure that the carrier is finally wound up and the remaining assets are sold.
Jet Airways should have been back in the air by now, but various problems have arisen that buyers need to solve. For example, these legacy issues include: outstanding wage claims of former employees. Also recently became the Approval as a training facility suspended, which also adversely affects the planned restart.
Meanwhile, voices in the Indian media expressing serious doubts that Jet Airways will ever take off again are becoming louder. The competent insolvency court met a few days ago to hear the lawsuits from creditors. A decision has not yet been made because it was postponed to December 6, 2022. The judges could then possibly announce a decision that is decisive for the future of Jet Airways. At the moment it is not foreseeable whether the lawsuits will be dismissed or whether the final liquidation will be ordered.
