From September 6, 2021, Turkish Airlines will only carry passengers who have been vaccinated and PCR tested in domestic traffic. This applies to both the mainline and the low-cost brand Anadolujet, which is operated by Turkish Airlines within the AOC.

Vaccinated persons must present their proof at the latest when boarding. Those who cannot do this are only allowed to fly if a negative PCR result can be shown. The state-owned carrier is pushing ahead with this measure, whereby it is to be expected that competitors such as SunExpress, Pegasus or Onur Air could announce similar decisions in the next few days or weeks.

In Turkey, dealing with Corona has so far been relatively relaxed, but the rules for unvaccinated people are now being tightened step by step. The focus here is particularly on domestic travel, which, in addition to flights, is also largely carried out by bus. It is currently being considered that 3G certification could be introduced for long-distance buses.
