The situation at Iran Air appears to be serious. At the carrier, around 2.000 of its 11.000 employees will have to pack their bags over the next four months.

Money worries are nothing new to the airline. Even before the current crisis, the airline had amassed a large mountain of debt. The aviation portal reports that the creditors are primarily banking institutions Swiss Aviation. That forces management to pull the rip cord. And kick off this wave of resignations. This is the only way to prevent bankruptcy. In addition, the company has also begun to retain employees not for five years, as is usually the case, but only for one year. With this measure, the cost structure of the carrier is apparently to be put to the test every year. Iran Air currently flies around the world with only 18 out of 46 aircraft.
