From July 26, 2021, Iceland will tighten its entry requirements. Those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered also have to present a negative corona test. This must not be older than 72 hours after the smear was taken. Both PCR and antigen results are recognized.
The tightening that has now been announced is coming very quickly, because it was not until July 1, 2021 that Iceland lifted the obligation to test for vaccinated and convalescent people. Now they are reintroduced, but they do not have to carry out any further tests after entry.
Persons who have not been vaccinated or have recovered are only allowed to enter Iceland if they present a negative PCR result that is not older than 72 hours. Furthermore, a further test must be completed in the course of entry. A five-day quarantine must then be observed. This can then be ended with another PCR test. Otherwise, the secretion will take significantly longer.
