The airline Israir will no longer fly on the Sabbath in the future. This affects all flights from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening. This measure was announced a few weeks ago, but at the time it was said that it should only be temporary due to the corona pandemic.

Behind the now final change is likely to be that the company has new owners and they want to observe the Sabbath. As a result, Israir will not offer any domestic flights between Tel Aviv and Eilat during the weekly “flight break”. All international connections are also affected.

Flight operations should take a break every Friday in the afternoon. The resumption takes place on Saturdays after sunset. This time also marks the official end of the Sabbath. Previously, Israir carried out around ten percent of the regular offer on the rest day.
