The Minister of Health pulls the handbrake: In order to contain the coronavirus pandemic, Italy is imposing a quarantine requirement for entries from other EU countries.
The Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza wants to sign a corresponding regulation on Wednesday, according to the ORF. Anyone entering Italy from EU countries in the future must show a negative test and also spend five days in quarantine. At the end of this test, a negative test result must be shown again.
This apparently puts a stop to travel over the Easter holidays. At first it was not announced when the rules were to come into force. They already apply to visitors from countries outside the EU.
