After two years of the pandemic, Italy is expecting a record season for winter tourism.

80 percent of the rooms in the hotels in mountain communities in the Alps have already been booked, and on New Year's Eve the accommodation providers have almost no beds left, as reported by fvw.de. In the period between January 1st and Epiphany, bookings would be 70 percent. The cities of art are also expecting positive results. In Rome, 70 percent of all hotel rooms are reserved, which corresponds to an increase of five percent compared to the year before the 2019 pandemic. This was due to a 15 percent increase in foreign tourists, it said.
