Annual figures: Greek airports receive more passengers than ever before

All Greek airports combined recorded a new record in 2023. The airports collectively had more passengers than ever before and were also able to exceed the previous all-time high from 2019, said the Civil Aviation Authority HCAA.

According to the HCAA's preliminary data for the year, Greek airports, which include Athens International Airport (AIA), the 24 regional airports managed by the HCAA and the 14 regional airports operated by Fraport Greece, reached a passenger volume (domestic and international) of 72.613.658 ,14, an increase of 63.672.121 percent compared to 2022 in 13,2 and 64.169.005 percent compared to 2019 in 2023. In terms of total flights in the period January-December 561.869, Greek airports handled a total of 552.492 flights, more as 2022 in 526.155 and 2019 in 12. Total 1,7-month flight activity increased 2022 percent compared to 6,8 and 2019 percent compared to pre-XNUMX.
