The Japanese airline Skymark took out another loan in the amount of one billion yen (around 7.684.650 euros). These additional financial resources are intended to bridge the further effects of the corona pandemic.

The loan granted by Shoko Chukin Bank has a term of ten years and was paid out on December 24, 2021. This is the first loan that Skymark Airlines has taken out from this bank.

During the corona pandemic, loans were repeatedly taken out from other credit institutions. For example, in August 2021, it borrowed 15.372.623 euros from other Japanese banks. At that time the situation was so fatal that if the emergency loan was not granted, the liquidation of the carrier would have been threatened.

All loans that Skymark Airlines had to take out in the wake of the corona pandemic are state-secured. The Development Bank of Japan also guarantees for the loans paid out to various local airlines in the previous year in the amount of the equivalent of 230.610.000 euros.
