Misconduct by an elderly lady resulted in Jet24 flight LS2022 having to stop in Munich on August 2, 819 en route from Manchester to Rhodes. The over 70-year-old woman is said to have rioted on board and urinated on the seats. In Germany, she was taken away by the federal police.

Shortly after the Boeing 757-200 with the registration G-LSAI took off in Manchester, the lady wanted a free champagne. She didn't get this and then decided on a gin and tonic. However, according to eyewitnesses, she was very dissatisfied with the fact that she was not getting champagne for free. She voiced her displeasure loudly. So violent that the cabin crew decided to take the alcoholic drink away from her.

The fuses of the over 70-year-old lady then blew. At first she screamed loudly. After a short "break" she made her way to one of the doors and tried to open it during the flight. The cabin crew stepped in and tried to calm the woman down. But the passenger didn't even think to think about it, but hit a flight attendant at least twice in the face. Two male passengers tried to help, but the elderly lady attacked them too.

The woman is said to have urinated unabashedly and intentionally on at least three seats. The captain decided to make an unscheduled stopover in Munich, Germany, and requested help from the federal police. The executive led the lady away, who protested and resisted loudly. The journey then continued, with the airline apologizing to the other passengers with free drinks.

"We can confirm that flight LS819 from Manchester to Rhodes was diverted to Munich Airport yesterday to allow a disrupted passenger to be offloaded. We would like to apologize to our customers for this unforeseen delay and the inconvenience it has caused. The health and safety of our employees and customers is our top priority and as a family-friendly airline we do not tolerate disruptive behavior of any kind. We will have no hesitation in vigorously pursuing any costs incurred as a result of this diversion," said a spokeswoman for the airline concerned.
