The US company Jetblue has been granted permanent take-off and landing rights at London Heathrow Airport. These come into force on October 29, 2022 and enable the carrier to have a permanent presence at the largest airport in the United Kingdom.
So far, Jetblue only had temporary slots at Heathrow. At the same time, the aim is to expand the range of flights to the UK with an additional rotation to Gatwick. Effective October 29, 2022, it will offer three daily flights between New York and London. Of these, two will be to/from Heathrow and one to/from Gatwick.
"The US-UK air corridor is one of the busiest in the world and to compete, JetBlue is increasing its number of flights across the North Atlantic from just one daily flight last summer to five this fall," said Robin Hayes , Chief Executive Officer of JetBlue. “And with permanent slots at Heathrow – the busiest slots in the world – we are now able to offer long-term service at one of the world's busiest airports. This is an incredible opportunity for an airline like JetBlue as we introduce our affordable fares and award-winning service to transatlantic travelers.”
Effective August 4, 2022, Jetblue will commence non-stop service between Boston (Logan) and London-Gatwick. Heathrow will be served from the US metropolis from September 20, 2022. Actually, one wanted to record the new routes earlier, but the manufacturer had Airbus Delivery delays for the required A321LR.
