The US airline Jetblue will postpone the phasing out of the Embraer 190 regional jets. Company boss Robin Hayes explained at the latest investor conference that this is needed for future growth.

The original plan was that 30 copies owned by Jetblue would be gradually replaced by Airbus A220s. The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer's regional jets are now expected to leave the fleet later. The 30 leased copies are to be returned to the Lessors between 2023 and 2026.

The 30 pieces owned by Jetblue are what you want to fly longer. There is no exact date yet. You need their capacities especially for the recently concluded Northeast Alliance, says CFO Ursula Hurley. The Carrier has a total of 60 Embraer 190s in its fleet.
