The US low-cost airline has now officially announced the launch of non-stop flights from New York-JFK and Boston to Amsterdam. These follow the London routes already served with Airbus A321LR and Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
First, New York will be connected to the Dutch capital. The route is to be served for the first time in late summer of this year. Boston-Amsterdam will follow a little later. Daily flights have been announced, which are to be served with the Airbus A321LR machine type.
"This route is long overdue for some competition," said Robin Hayes, JetBlue Chief Executive Officer. “For too long, legacy US airlines, backed by their joint ventures with other global airlines that enjoy immunity from antitrust laws, have locked customers in with very expensive fares and mediocre service. As we are doing in London and Paris, we will lower prices and improve the customer flight experience between the US and Amsterdam.”
In the media release, the US low-cost airline was able to take a dig at the fact that a Dutch court had ruled that the government's intention to reduce the capacity of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol declared unlawful don't hold back. On the basis of the judgment, one is confident that this will give Jetblue room for market entry in the Netherlands.

"We are confident that customers, Amsterdam Airport officials and the Dutch government will be excited by JetBlue when they see firsthand the positive impact we can make, and we look forward to working with Dutch officials to ensure long-term success in the market."
