The German travel group Tui will be under new management from October 1, 2022, as long-time CEO Fritz Joussen will resign from his post on September 30, 2022. His successor will be the previous CFO Sebastian Ebel.

Joussen's service contract would have actually run until September 2025, but he is resigning from his post early. In a letter addressed to the workforce, the outgoing Tui boss explains, among other things, that the decision was not easy for him. However, the timing is right, because in his opinion the Tui Group has overcome the existential crisis. As part of state aid, he would have been granted a so-called right of resignation.

Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Tui Group, thanked Joussen and highlighted his achievements in rescuing the travel group during the corona pandemic. He considers Ebel to be the ideal successor. Incidentally, the new head of finance will be Mathias Kiep, who is currently working in the controlling department.
