In June 2022, Vienna-Schwechat Airport handled a total of 2.400.515 passengers. Although it was significantly higher than in the same month last year, it was around 20 percent below the volume that was recorded in the same month of the record year 2019.

Together with the subsidiaries in Luqa (Malta) and Kosice, the group counted 3.067.003 passengers. Compared to the pre-crisis level, the passenger volume in June 2022 in the group was 81,4 percent and at the Vienna location 80,4 percent in June 2019 - i.e. around 20 percent lower than before the corona pandemic.

In a year-on-year comparison, the number of local passengers improved by 233,1 percent to 1.775.789 passengers. There were 617.492 transfer passengers, which means an increase of 227 percent. Flight movements increased to 18.140 take-offs and landings (+120,6 percent). Cargo volume fell by 2021 percent compared to June 6,4 to 19.981 tons.

The passenger volume at Vienna Airport in June 2022 rose to 865.654 passengers (+236,5 percent) to Western Europe compared to the previous year 2021. A total of 2022 passengers (+223.288 percent) traveled to Eastern Europe in June 158,2. The airport recorded 37.963 travelers (+378,1 percent) to North America and 20.441 (+314,9 percent) to Africa. In June 2022, Vienna Airport recorded a total of 52.536 passengers (+313,0 percent) to the Near and Middle East and 9.987 passengers (+>500 percent) to the Far East.

The Vienna Airport holdings are also increasing: At Malta Airport, the number of passengers rose to 2022 travelers (+603.532 percent) in June 216,8, which is 83,6 percent of the pre-crisis level (June 2019). At Kosice Airport, the number of passengers increased to 62.956 travelers (+497,1 percent) and is thus already slightly above the pre-crisis level.
