The airline Eurowings is getting a new commercial director in Kai Duve. The previous Lufthansa cabin manager succeeds Frank Bauer, who is taking on a new role as Executive Vice President at the parent company.
Duve completes the three-strong Eurowings management team. This includes Jens Bischof as chairman and Jens Ritter. Frank Bauer managed the financial affairs of the Lufthansa subsidiary for around three years.
"Kai Duve is an excellent fit for Eurowings - both professionally and personally," says Eurowings CEO Jens Bischof. “He will enrich the management with his extensive expertise and international experience. That's why I'm convinced that Kai Duve is exactly the right person with whom we can continue on our chosen path at Eurowings - towards a strong and popular value airline for Europe."
Effective February 1, 2022, Frank Bauer will be moving to the Finance department of the Lufthansa Group. In the future, as Executive Vice President, he will be in charge of corporate controlling at the Lufthansa Group, where he will be responsible, among other things, for efficiency improvements and performance management across the group.
"Together with the teams, Frank Bauer designed the financial turnaround of Eurowings and consistently pushed ahead with the implementation. This enabled us to significantly improve the competitiveness of Eurowings,” says Jens Bischof.
