The Cairo-based startup SkyBird Airlines took over the first Airbus A320. Charter flights from Europe to Egypt are planned for the summer of 2021. However, they are still waiting for the AOC and operating license.

The first machine is the Airbus A320-200 with the MSN 1873, which is loaded by Aero Capital Solutions. This is what company boss Magdy El Halfawy told CH-Aviation.com. This machine is 18,5 years old and was last used by the Latvian SmartLyns Airlines. The two-jet engine was last parked in St. Athan.

El Halfawy further explained to CH-Aviation.com that he expects the AOC and operating license to be issued by the Egyptian civil aviation authority around May 2021. The initial plan is to operate charter flights from Europe to Egypt on behalf of tour operators in the summer of 2021. At a later point in time, the operation is to be expanded with more machines. Entry into the line business is not intended, at least in the short term.
