On Friday, November 25, 2022, a Boeing 737-800, registration C-FFLC, operated by Canadian low-cost airline Flair Airlines derailed the runway at Waterloo International Airport.
The medium-haul jet was flying from Vancouver to Waterloo with flight number F8501. The flight was uneventful until landing. In the early morning of November 25, 2022, C-FFLC prepared to land on runway 26. However, the pilots did not succeed in taxiing and, as usual, were denied the runway.
The Boeing 737-800 hit soft ground at the end of the runway and got stuck there. There were 134 passengers and six crew members on board. Everyone was able to exit the plane unharmed. Only recently a Beluga XL remained after a landing stuck in the mud. The machine had to be freed from its predicament with great difficulty, with the crew remaining unharmed.
