From July 1st, Cape Verdean authorities will only recognize travelers who have already received a booster vaccination as fully vaccinated. This means that only boosted holidaymakers are allowed to enter the country without a previous test for the corona virus.

With the new regulation, the same test obligations apply to people who have only received a basic immunization as to travelers who are not or not fully vaccinated. A negative CoV test is also required for these people to enter the country. On departure, PCR tests that are no more than 72 hours old or antigen tests that are no more than 48 hours old are accepted. The new regulation applies not only to entry into the African island state, but also to travel between the individual islands.

With a booster vaccination, there is no obligation for holidaymakers to take a test, and the digital COVID certificate from the EU can be presented as proof of vaccination. The same rules apply to inter-island travel by air or sea. An online form for travel registration is also required for entry, which should be processed at best five days before arrival. A health declaration must also be completed.
